Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd (TPEM) and Jaguar Land Rover Plc (JLR) have announced a platform-sharing partnership. Under the agreement, TPEM, a subsidiary of Tata Motors Limited (TML), will have the license to use JLR’s Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) platform to enhance its ‘Avinya’ premium electric vehicle series. Additionally, an Engineering Services Agreement (ESA) will be implemented to meet TPEM’s specific requirements for the development of its first vehicle.

JLR’s EMA platform, set to be launched in 2025, is designed to support JLR’s upcoming mid-sized pure electric SUVs for global markets. This platform prioritizes interior comfort, space, and vision, alongside cutting-edge electrical and connectivity features. On the other hand, the ‘Avinya’ series, introduced in 2022, represents the pinnacle of electric mobility, offering a top-tier in-cabin experience, enhanced connectivity, and other advanced features. The inclusion of JLR’s EMA platform is expected to enhance Avinya’s global appeal and future resilience.
